What Is Microneedling Infusion? A Customized Approach to Microneedling in Burnaby

Microneedling is often associated with acne scars, uneven texture, enlarged-looking pores, pigmentation, and early signs of aging. But not every skin should be treated with the same depth, the same intensity, or the same protocol.
At Allure Beauty Bar, my Microneedling Infusion is a customized treatment that combines microneedling with a targeted serum selected for your skin and professional ultrasound, followed by a hydrating mask and LED to support the skin through the immediate recovery phase.
The goal is not to create the strongest possible reaction. It is to choose the right treatment, right intensity, and right timing for the skin in front of me.
What Does Microneedling Actually Do?
Microneedling uses very fine needles to create controlled micro-injuries in the skin. These small injuries trigger the skin’s natural repair process and support collagen remodeling over time. This is why microneedling is commonly used to improve concerns such as acne scars, uneven texture, and fine lines.
Unlike a treatment that creates only an immediate surface change, microneedling relies on the skin’s own repair process, so improvements develop gradually. More established concerns such as acne scarring or uneven texture usually require a series of treatments rather than one aggressive session.
Why I Customize Every Microneedling Treatment
Microneedling should not be a one-setting treatment. Before I begin, I look at both what we want to improve and what the skin can reasonably tolerate that day. That can include:
the type and depth of scarring
current breakouts or inflammation
dehydration
sensitivity or reactivity
overall barrier condition
recent treatments
current skincare
how well the skin has been recovering lately
From there, I adjust the treatment accordingly. Needle depth, treatment intensity, number of passes, and the areas being treated do not need to be identical for every client.
Even two clients coming in for acne scars may need very different treatments.
More Aggressive Does Not Automatically Mean Better
Redness, pinpoint bleeding, or a stronger post-treatment reaction does not automatically mean the treatment was more effective. Microneedling creates controlled injury, so there needs to be enough stimulation to create the desired response without unnecessarily overwhelming the skin.
For some clients, a more targeted treatment may be appropriate. For others, especially when the skin is dehydrated, reactive, recently treated, or struggling with barrier function, I may choose a more conservative approach.
An advanced treatment is not about doing the most. It is about knowing how much the skin actually needs.
Why I Use a Targeted Serum
After microneedling, I select a professional serum based on the main treatment goal and the condition of the skin at the time of the appointment. The same serum does not make sense for every client.
For example, someone focused on uneven tone may need a different approach from someone concerned with dehydration, texture, or early signs of aging.
Customization is not about adding as many active ingredients as possible. It is about choosing what makes sense for the skin being treated.
Why I Add Ultrasound After Microneedling
For me, microneedling is only the stimulation phase of the treatment. Once the needling is complete, I move into a more recovery-focused stage using a targeted serum with professional ultrasound.
Ultrasound-based treatments are widely used in Korean aesthetic care, including recovery-focused treatment concepts often associated with LDM-style protocols.
I incorporate ultrasound because it fits my overall treatment philosophy: create the appropriate level of stimulation first, then support the skin as it moves into recovery.
How Microneedling Infusion Is Structured
My Microneedling Infusion combines several stages, each with a specific purpose.
Customized Microneedling
The treatment depth and intensity are selected according to your concern, skin condition, treatment area, and current recovery capacity.
Targeted Serum + Ultrasound
After microneedling, a targeted serum is selected based on your skin’s condition and treatment goals, then paired with professional ultrasound as part of the recovery-focused phase of the treatment.
Hydrating Mask + LED
The treatment finishes with a hydrating mask while LED is used as a calming, low-stimulation final step as the skin begins to settle.
These steps are not added simply to make the appointment longer. Each part has a different role within the treatment plan.
Stimulation first. Recovery support after.
What Can Microneedling Help With?
Microneedling may be considered for concerns such as:
acne scars
uneven skin texture
enlarged-looking pores
fine lines and early textural changes
uneven-looking skin tone
overall skin texture and smoothness
It is also important to separate acne scars from active acne. Microneedling may be useful for the marks and textural changes left behind after acne, but actively inflamed skin may need a different approach first.
When Microneedling May Not Be the Right First Step
Wanting microneedling does not always mean your skin is ready for microneedling.
If I see significant irritation, active inflammation, an active rash or infection, or skin that is already struggling to recover, I may recommend waiting or addressing those concerns first.
Sometimes preparing the skin first is the better treatment decision. That might mean improving hydration, simplifying an irritating routine, reducing active inflammation, or giving the skin more recovery time before creating another controlled injury.
What I Mean by Recovery Capacity
Recovery capacity is one of the things I pay close attention to before advanced treatments. Two clients may have the exact same concern but very different skin underneath it.
One person with acne scarring may have stable, resilient skin. Another may have similar scars but also experience persistent redness, dehydration, sensitivity, or irritation from an aggressive skincare routine. Giving those two clients exactly the same treatment would not make sense.
The concern tells me what we want to treat. The condition of the skin helps determine how I should treat it.
What to Expect at Your First Microneedling Appointment
First-time Microneedling Infusion appointments include a consultation and skin assessment before treatment.
We will go through your main concerns, current skincare routine, recent treatments, sensitivity, previous reactions, and what you are hoping to improve. I will then assess your skin and determine the appropriate treatment intensity for that appointment.
You do not need to know which needle depth, serum, or protocol you need before booking. That decision is part of my job.
How Much Downtime Should You Expect?
Some redness, tightness, dryness, tenderness, or mild peeling can occur after microneedling. The amount varies depending on the treatment intensity and individual skin response.
Your skin may also feel more sensitive than usual during the early recovery period, so aftercare matters. I will provide guidance on what to use, what to avoid, and when to gradually return to your regular routine.
How Many Treatments Will I Need?
There is no universal number. It depends on what we are treating, the starting condition of the skin, the severity of the concern, how the skin responds, and how much recovery time is appropriate between sessions.
Acne scars and more established textural concerns generally require a series rather than expecting one session to completely change the skin.
I prefer to adjust treatment progressively based on how your skin responds instead of making every session as aggressive as possible from the beginning.
Microneedling Infusion at Allure Beauty Bar in Burnaby
My approach to microneedling is assessment-led and recovery-focused. Instead of following the same protocol for every client, I customize the treatment according to your concern, current skin condition, and ability to recover.
Microneedling Infusion combines customized microneedling, a targeted serum with professional ultrasound, and a hydrating mask with LED.
The goal is not simply to make the skin redder or create a stronger reaction. It is to create enough stimulation to move the skin in the right direction while respecting what it can handle at that time.
Right treatment. Right intensity. Right timing.
